How to Help

In the past year, MaineTransNet has held regular ongoing support meetings in both Portland and Bangor, led or co-led more than 29 educational workshops for health professionals, and  students, and community members, and organized Maine's second anual transgender health conference. We are on track to educate over 1000 people this year alone!  In the past year, we have had contact with trans individuals in 13 of 16 counties in Maine. All of these activities and programing cost money.  Please consider helping out by clicking any of the PayPal links on our site and making a donation, buying some Shwag, or shopping at Amazon.com from our website.

 
We could always use a hand! We are in need of:

  • Members to join our speakers bureau

  • Event planners for social, educational, and outreach programming

  • Writers to contribute to our website and our upcoming newsletter

  • Volunteers to help with fund raising events

  • Book reviewers
  • **Monetary donations to help support operating expenses**

Maine Transgender Network, Inc. is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Because of the stigma and negative stereotypes still unfortunately associated with the transgender community, securing funding is particularly difficult.
